I was fascinated with the Chinese wedding starting from the preparation where red, symbolic of joy, featured prominently in the clothing and other ritual objects pertaining to the wedding. One unique ritual I observed was the bride’s journey to the groom’s house… firecrackers were set off just before the procession arrived, the bride was required to step over a lit stove to cross the threshold and the fire would cast out of evil influences, and the tea present as primary part of gift-giving and invitation.

Pare and Pei Fang are from China and settled here in the city where they established a business. Good thing they can speak tagalog… the only language where we could understand each other. Here’s the onsite video of their wedding:

It’s 9AM… the entourage is getting ready and the couple is very cool. In a while it’s 11AM… the make-up artist just arrived and almost everybody panicked. Noontime comes… it seems some things didn’t work out on time and the bride almost teary-eyed, knowing that the ceremony will start at 2PM. I said to her, “these are just spices of the ocassion and something to laugh about when everything is over. There’s no such thing as perfect wedding… only perfect couple.”

With God’s grace, everything happened pretty well… and I was delighted to see the couple smiling as they got out of the church. There’s a catch, the mass ended early and the reception started right away… not to mention that the program ended in just an hour! We were the ones who panicked this time trying to cope-up… and whew, thank God we made it

It’s 6PM… were very happy to be home after the wedding

Blues planned this video to surprise Hope, aside from a surprise song rendition during reception. No question about it, Blues can sing and play guitar so well… and even act naturally

It’s been a longtime dream of the groom to do a music video. He wishes to sing a memorable song also to the bride one day. Gladly, everything fell into places in such momentous event - on their wedding day.

To Blues and Hope, we treasured your friendship. You guys made us very happy with our works We enjoyed the party and thanks for the beer… lots, lots of beers!
