One of the unique things I found in this event was the wedding cake… a replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Galileo Galilei is said to have dropped two cannon balls of different masses from the tower to demonstrate that their speed of descent was independent of their mass. He did so as an experiment to disprove Aristotle’s theory of gravity, which states that objects fall at a speed relative to their mass. Moreover, Galileo Galilei has been called the “Father of Modern Physics.”

Tower of Pisa + Galileo + gravity + physics = Gravitational Love of Aris & Gen. The couple is both physicists and about to finish their doctorate degrees. No wonder the wedding motif reflects a Renaissance period as this two scientists gravitated each other to tie knot. They finally agreed to stargaze the Galilean satellites using the Galilean terrestrial telescope in following the astronomical observations found in “Sidereus Nuncius.” Theoretically, the “campanile” of Tower of Pisa is ringing on their wedding day.

With so short a time chatting with the groom I found out how Dave is so fascinated with planes. Little did I know that the silverplate B-29’s “Enola Gay” Superfortress Bomber was made by Boeing. He works in the said company.

I do love war planes and discovered several Boeing’s defense aircrafts such as C-130, AH-64 Apache, B-2 Stealth Bomber, F-15 Strike Eagle, F-18 Hornet, AV-8B Harrier, and the famous Air Force One. It was fun-filled talking with Dave about the said military aircrafts So what’s with the planes and the couple… you might ask. Maybe the significance about the wedding date of Dave & Jiggy, just a thought.

By the way, pilot Col. Paul W. Tibbets Jr. named B-29 after his mother on August 05, 1945.

Although it rained on their wedding day, the couple never ceased to shine… glowing with love and care with each other. Added to the glitters is their wedding car - the one who smackdown the Chevy pony car aka “Bumblebee”.

I was mesmerized with the Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track. It has V-6 engine, 6 speed auto transmission and with 306 horsepower. You read it right, lovely couple in a lovely Coupe!

This is the first wedding that took place in St. Augustine after more than a year of renovation. We always look forward of the long aisle walk, tall top shots, and wide church area to shoot from during ceremony. Metropolitan Cathedral is definitely one of the beautiful landmarks of CDO and a good place to hold church weddings. No wonder why Sandy & May waited for the time the parish will allow wedding ceremony after renovation.

The wedding was quite challenging since the groom was a former wedding coordinator. But the best thing that happened on this day is that the couple was civilly wedded and strikes back to finally have their church wedding.
